SUMMARY:Salvation Army 'Lead' Youth & Children's Ministry Conference - CREWE
DESCRIPTION:Early explorers who set off to discover and map the edges of the known world used the phrase ‘Here be Dragons’ to mark the uncharted corners of their maps which were seen as mysterious and dangerous. For these people desperate to explore\, to adventure it told them one thing: the cartographers didn’t know what was out there. \nAt this year’s youth and children’s ministries conference\, we’ll begin to ask where God might be sending us: where are the ‘off the map’ areas and what discoveries might lie in store? But more than that\, what kind of leadership is needed to discover these new places? How do we become more brave\, courageous\, adventurous\, creative\, spirit-filled and spirit-led leaders full of faith\, hope and kingdom ambition? We’ve got one advantage over those early pioneers – we know Jesus is already beyond the edges of our map\, calling us out from the limits we’ve imposed on ourselves; to set sail in search of the places where The Salvation Army has not yet explored and discovered. \nMark Arnold will be running a session about additional needs on the Saturday\, timings to be confirmed. \nDATE: 22nd-24th March 2019\, exact timings to be confirmed.\nVENUE: Wychwood Park Hotel\, Crewe\, CW2 5GP\nCOST: £130 (single room) and £110 (shared room) per person* Ticket price includes food\, accommodation and entrance to the conference.

SUMMARY:Free 'All Inclusive?' Training and Lunch - BOURNEMOUTH
DESCRIPTION:‘ALL INCLUSIVE?’ training and lunch Wed 22nd May 12.30-2.30pm at The Citygate Centre\, Bournemouth. ABSOLUTELY FREE JUST RSVP! 🙂 \n8 of the schools across Bournemouth\, Poole and Christchurch are special schools for children/young people with additional needs. They vary greatly! Some cater to help people with various physical or mental needs\, others are working with students excluded from mainstream school who have behavioural difficulties. As PACE grows in partnership with the churches to serve more schools\, we don’t want to overlook these schools and they need us to be equipped to consider how we might serve them in ways that help everyone explore the Christian faith. \nSo\, we’re very excited to be able to have Mark Arnold from Urban Saints come and give us some valuable training and insights about working with children and young people with additional needs of various kinds and to help us think especially about how we might be able to serve the schools that cater for them too. It will help families\, church leaders\, staff and volunteers and everyone who has an interest in this area. It will help us think about how we help people with additional needs who are already in our churches but will also help us think about how we might go and serve the schools they are part of too. It’s a BIG opportunity!! \nWe hope you will be able to come along and bring others from your church to learn with us and to let us know which of these schools you might have an interest in praying for and/or serving in as opportunities arise. \nIt’s 2 hours of training\, including a free lunch. Please do RSVP to davepegg@pacetrust.org.uk or on here to let Dave know if you can make it and let us know how many you’re bringing with you from your staff/church too. Everyone welcome!

SUMMARY:SchoolsworkUK Day Conference - LUTON
DESCRIPTION:Date: Monday 2nd September\n\n\nTime: 9.30-5.30\n\n\nVenue: Youthscape\, Bute Mills\, LU12EY\n\n\n \n\n\nOld Ground\, New Rules\n\n\n \n\n\nChristians have been doing youth work in schools for decades now\, but schools today look very different than they even ten years ago. They are ever-evolving and our approaches and work we do should adapt and change with our context. The SchoolsworkUK Day Conference is a day dedicated to helping resource and equip all those who work with young people in school or want to start. \n\n\n \n\n\nAfter being at home\, young people spend more time in school than anywhere else in their week and that means that there is a multitude of approaches to schools work. With 12 different seminars to choose from and a selection of key note speakers\, we will be looking some of the different ways that Christians can interact with schools and young people\, so that no matter what your context is like\, there will be something for you. We have a great selection of speakers sharing on a wide range of topics\, everything from inclusion & Additional Needs to NEET intervention\, from Relationships and Sex Education to Emotional Wellbeing and much more. \n\n\n \n\n\nFor more details visit:\n\n\nwww.youthscape.co.uk/store/product/schoolsworkuk-day-conference-old-ground-new-rules

SUMMARY:Wave For Change Day - LONDON
DESCRIPTION:“Do we settle for the world as it is\, or do we work for the world as it should be?” Michelle Obama \nWould you love to see places where people with and without learning disabilities have an equal sense of belonging\, including in your own community?\n\nWAVE (We’re All Valued Equally) is a movement for change\, working to build inclusive communities where individuals with and without learning disabilities become less socially segregated. \nWe simply want more opportunities for people to mix across all aspects of life.\nWave for Change Day\nSaturday 21st September\, 1pm – 5pm\nSt James Church\, Muswell Hill\, London\n\nCome and join us for a very practical\, interactive afternoon: \nCelebrate: see how bringing people with and without learning disabilities together benefits everyone\nShare: exchange experiences between those already ‘doing things together’ and those who’d like to. We’ll have findings from new research to share too\nInspire: leave with increased understanding\, confidence and connections \nIn small groups we’ll share and inspire each other with the benefits of inclusion in playgroups/nurseries\, sports/activity groups\, churches/faith groups and the wider community (shops\, restaurants etc).\nThere will also be a celebratory community party in the evening and we’d love you to stay for that – an opportunity to see real inclusion in action.\nReal inclusion means accepting our differences and doing things together. #WithNotFor

SUMMARY:Global Connections: Dealing With Difference - BIRMINGHAM
DESCRIPTION:Short-Term Mission Forum (A 24-hour event) \nDealing with Difference: \nMental health\, sexuality\, gender identity and disability are realities in a changing world which means we need to think differently about who will potentially serve in our short-term programmes. In the past\, many people have felt excluded from a short-term mission experience but\, in today’s inclusive world\, how can we organise and advertise our programmes so that they are accessible to as many people as possible without compromising our own values or making our trips impractical due to the need to provide higher levels of care and support? \nSpeakers with experience in these areas will help us navigate the complexity of these issues and show us how we can make provision for those with additional needs so that we can find the right balance. We will also include some practical sessions on key areas relating to best practice. \nPrice for Global Connections’ members is £105. Non-members price is £135 but places cannot be guaranteed. Accommodation will be in single rooms unless otherwise requested. \nLocation: Wallis House (previously know as International Mission Centre)\, 24 Weoley Park Road\, Selly Oak\, Birmingham\, B29 6QX \nDate: 15th October 2019 (2pm) to 16th October 2019 (2pm). \nFor more details and to book\, visit: https://www.globalconnections.org.uk/events/short-term-mission-forum-a-24-hour-event
