SUMMARY:New Wine 2020 National Accessibility Conference - PRESTON
DESCRIPTION:Additional needs are wide ranging and include anything that prevents someone from participating in an activity\, such as physical disability\, mental health needs\, illness or undiagnosed needs. We want to make sure our church communities are places which recognise and welcome the value of what everyone brings to God’s kingdom; helping every individual to contribute. Part of creating an accessible church can also involve working alongside individuals such as those who are ex-offenders\, or have abused substances and may be rough sleeping. Some of the seminars within the conference will enable us to explore this \nThis one day conference will empower church leaders\, volunteers and communities to make church more accessible and inclusive for individuals with additional needs. The day will include both teaching and practical application as well as ideas for how to make your local church accessible for all children\, youth and adults. Please note there will be BSL interpretation on the day.

SUMMARY:'Making Sense Of Our Senses' - EDINBURGH
DESCRIPTION:‘Making Sense Of Our Senses’\nExploring eight of our senses and sensory additional needs and disabilities including Sensory Processing Disorder. \nThere are at least eight senses; five that we can all think of; sight\, hearing\, smell\, taste and touch\, as well as three that we might not know so much about; vestibular (balance and movement)\, proprioception (body awareness)\, and interoception (awareness of what’s happening inside the body). \nThis seminar explores all eight senses\, and provides us with practical ways to learn about them with our own children\, or with children we care for in a club or group\, as well as thinking about what Jesus did when he met people with sensory impairments or how he and the disciples responded to their own senses. \nDate: Saturday 25th April 2020\nTime: 2:00pm to 4:30pm\nVenue: 1 Clovenstone Park\, Edinburgh EH14 3BG \nFor further details\, please contact:\nCarol Weir\, email: carolweir1@virginmedia.com\nWeb: https://mailwhbc.wixsite.com/whbc
