SUMMARY:'All Inclusive?' and 'Making Sense Of Our Senses' - NORTH WALES
DESCRIPTION:All Inclusive?’ is an essential seminar for all parents\, teachers\, church leaders\, youth and children’s leaders\, and anyone who cares for children and young people with special/additional needs or disabilities. \nIn this seminar we will:\n– Explore the ‘state of the nation’ and explode some of the myths surrounding working with kids with special needs.\n– Look at some of the key strategies that you can use to make what you offer more inclusive.\n– Identify some of the amazing benefits that inclusion can bring to your whole group.\n– We’ll also highlight some further resources that you can use as you work though this with your teams. \n‘Making Sense Of Our Senses’\nExploring eight of our senses and sensory additional needs and disabilities including Sensory Processing Disorder. \nThere are at least eight senses; five that we can all think of; sight\, hearing\, smell\, taste and touch\, as well as three that we might not know so much about; vestibular (balance and movement)\, proprioception (body awareness)\, and interoception (awareness of what’s happening inside the body). \nThis seminar explores all eight senses\, and provides us with practical ways to learn about them with our own children\, or with children we care for in a club or group\, as well as thinking about what Jesus did when he met people with sensory impairments or how he and the disciples responded to their own senses. \nDate: Saturday 25th January 2020\nTime: ‘All Inclusive?’ – 10:00am to 12:30pm\n‘Making sense of our senses’ – 1:30pm to 4:00pm\nVenue: Festival Church\, 87 Gors Road\, Towyn\, Abergele\, LL22 9NR \nCost £15 per person for the day includes workbooks and lunch \nAdvance booking is required\, for further details\, please contact:\nRachel Hughes: rhughes@urbansaints.org or 01678 530347
